A Note on Carpools and Covid: The leadership of Second Wind has followed the UPC guidelines that people are free to join our activities, regardless of vaccine status. We discussed the issue of safety, as well as people’s differing views on personal contact with each other. We noted that people have the option of making their own personal arrangements, e.g., to drive themselves to any activity.

People are also free to form carpools. A driver can specify if he/she requires passengers to be vaccinated. Then passengers can self-identify if they are vaccinated, so each individual can make their own decision on carpooling. While masks are optional at church, each driver can make his/her own decision about wearing masks in their car. This arrangement allows for an acceptance of the choices people have made. If you volunteer to be a driver, it would be much appreciated!
