Infant & Child Baptism

Why do we baptize infants?
We baptize infants on the basis of a parent’s faith until that child is mature enough to make that faith their own. We consider our children to belong to God and to his covenant community (Acts 2:39). In the New Testament evidence suggests that when the heads of households were baptized so too were their children. Infant baptism demonstrates the great truth that God takes the initiative with us (even while we are incapable of faith) and invites us into his great promise of life in Jesus Christ. The parents claim God’s love for the infant. Parents promise, with the congregation, to raise the child in God’s love. Baptism is a sign and seal of God’s grace. It helps us to grow in our journey of faith.

Baptisms for infants and children take place on scheduled Sundays. Our next baptism is on May 10, 2026.

You will be contacted to schedule a required parent meeting prior to the baptism.
