Second Wind Hike Discovery Park

Discovery Park is wonderful any time of the year, and the fall colors on the huge maple trees put on a great show! The views on this trail are some of the best in the Seattle area. From the cliffs above Puget Sound, there is a breathtaking view southward, and a stunning view of Mount Rainer! Once we make our way down to the shore, we will stop for lunch (pack a lunch) by the lighthouse (a favorite place for photos). Once around the corner we see the splendid Olympic Mountains and can gaze northward up Puget Sound! This trail is about 5 miles long and the elevation gain is 500 feet.
Meet at 9:30 In the West UPC parking lot for a carpool to the park. Didi Kearsley will stop by the church and she can take 3 riders to the park. Please note: If no one notifies her that they need a ride, she will not stop by the church.
Or, meet at 10am in the Discovery Park Visitor Center parking Lot: 3801 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle WA 98199.
If you have questions or want to sign-up, contact Didi Kearsly at 206-354-1330, or dkbikework@yahoo.com.
Dress for the weather. Didi is a strong hiker, and she is not inclined to postpone for a little drizzle… Wear boots or good walking shoes, and trekking poles are good, if you have them. Bring a lunch.
