The New Testament is permeated with approximately 250 overt quotations and over 1,000 allusions to the Old Testament. These appropriations of the older Jewish writings are crafted by the first followers of Jesus to comment on the grand story of Scripture, the identity and work of Jesus himself, the mission of God’s people, and the nature of the gospel. Join us as we explore the beauty, power, and sophistication of how the New Testament authors read their Bible.
