SUMMARY:Engaging Homelessness 101: Pathways to Relationship and Restoration
DESCRIPTION:The Homelessness crisis in King County continues to create more questions than answers. One of the most important questions for the Church is\, “How can we love and serve our homeless neighbors?” \nThis training covers four key areas: \n\nThe extent and root causes of homelessness\nGod’s heart for our homeless neighbors\nThe Mission’s approach\nHow anyone can get involved\n\n“Engaging Homelessness 101” provides foundational information and includes insights from experts\, real-life stories from formerly homeless individuals that show that change is possible\, and a Q&A time.  We want each attendee to walk away with a deeper understanding of homelessness and actionable steps to take. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Good Friday
DESCRIPTION:On the Friday of Holy Week\, we warmly invite you to join us for our Good Friday service. This solemn occasion is a time to reflect on Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and contemplate the profound love that led Him to willingly lay down His life for us. \nOur service will feature meaningful music sung by our Cathedral Choir and organ and Bible readings that help us remember the events of that fateful day. We will also spend time in prayer and contemplation\, seeking to deepen our understanding of the incredible sacrifice made on our behalf. \nAs we gather together\, we invite you to bring your burdens and your sorrows\, your doubts and your fears\, and to lay them at the foot of the cross\, for it is there\, in the shadow of the cross\, that we find hope and healing\, forgiveness and redemption. \nWe hope you will join us for this special service as we remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior and as we seek to draw closer to him as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

Those arriving early will be asked to wait in line in the north hallway. \nThere will be overflow seating in the narthex with a live broadcast of the service.   \n  \nCHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING  \nChildren’s programming is offered for birth to kindergarten at the 9:30 and 11:00 am services only. Older kids join their families in the services! Knox Family Room will be available for all kids/families and is equipped with additional children’s supplies.   \n  \nMISCELLANEOUS NOTES  \nServices will last approximately one hour. After the service\, we invite you to join us for coffee and fellowship at the top of the stairs behind the balcony in Geneva Hall. There are two surface parking lots – across NE 47th Street (North Lot) and across 15th Ave NE (West Lot). You can also park in the above-ground garage across 15th Ave NE from the church (4545 Garage). Please be sure to use the crosswalks to get to the building. \nYou can find more information and maps to our parking lots HERE. \n  \nIf I require accessible parking or have limited mobility\, where should I park? \nWe have two options for individuals requiring accessible parking. First\, we will have a “Limited Mobility Drop Off Zone” on 15th Ave NE with access to the building only 15 feet away. Second\, our underground garage will be available\, with direct access to the building. The underground garage is located on 16th Ave NE. There will be plenty of signage directing you to either location. \n  \nWhere do I enter the building? \nWe have a large church\, and it can be a little confusing where our “front door” is located! On Easter\, we will utilize the glass doors on the corner of 15th Ave NE and NE 47th St as our main entrance. We ask that everyone enter the building through those doors unless requiring limited mobility access from the drop-off zone. \nIf you need assistance entering the building\, we will have greeters ready to help you enter through the wooden doors by the limited mobility drop-off zone. \n  \nWhen should I arrive for a service? \nWe will start each service promptly at its scheduled time\, so be sure to arrive with enough time to find parking\, cross the street\, and find your seat in the sanctuary or balcony. We will keep the sanctuary and balcony closed until 15 minutes prior to each service start time. Anyone who arrives more than 15 minutes prior to a service will be asked to wait in a line that begins in the hallway leading into our lobby (Narthex). \n  \nWhat happens if I am running late for a service? \nIf you find yourself a little behind schedule\, that is okay! We ask that you still enter through the glass doors\, located on 15th and 47th\, and head to the lobby. If there is space in the sanctuary or balcony\, an usher will help you find a seat at the appropriate time of the service. \nIn the event that we are at full capacity in the sanctuary and balcony\, we will have a designated overflow seating area in the narthex/lobby area with a live broadcast of the service. \n  \nWill there be Children’s Programming? \nChildren’s programming is offered for birth to kindergarten at the 9:30 and 11:00 am services only. Older kids join their families in the services! Across the lobby from the sanctuary\, Knox Family Room will be equipped with toys\, rocking chairs\, and children’s activities for families during all three services. \n  \nWill there be hot chocolate and coffee available? \nOF COURSE! And scones and strawberries too! \n  \nWhat if I still have a question? \nWe are here to help! Please send Bryan an email at bryanm@upc.org.

DESCRIPTION:8:00 am\, 9:30 am\, and 11:00 am\nCelebrate Easter with University Presbyterian Church!\nEaster Sunday will have three services\, 8:00 am\, 9:30 am\, and 11:00 am. All three will be the same mix of traditional and contemporary styles. Don’t miss our other Holy Week services leading up to Easter Sunday. \nAs we approach the season of Lent and Easter\, we invite you to join us for a special Easter Sunday service at UPC. This is a time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and to come together as a community to worship and give thanks. \nOur Easter Sunday services will be a time of reflection\, renewal\, and rejoicing. Easter Sunday will have three services\, 8:00 am\, 9:30 am\, and 11:00 am. All three will be the same mix of traditional and contemporary styles. We will gather in fellowship to hear inspiring messages\, sing joyful hymns and songs of praise\, and offer our prayers of thanksgiving. It will be a day filled with hope and love as we come together to honor the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and celebrate his victory over death. \nWhether you are a long-time member of our church or are looking for a new community of faith to join\, we welcome you to come and celebrate Easter with us. Our doors are always open\, and we would be honored to have you join us on this special day. \nSo\, come and be a part of our Easter Sunday service and experience the joy of the season with us. We look forward to seeing you! \n  \nPARKING  \nADA Parking | A dropoff zone is located on 15th Ave NE near the wooden sanctuary doors\, plus an underground garage is accessible from 16th Ave NE with direct access to the building.  \nNorth Lot | Located on NE 47th St — surface lot with parking for all.  \nWest Lot | Located on 15th Ave NE — surface lot with parking for all (please cross at the crosswalk).  \n4545 Garage | Located on 15th Ave NE — multiple levels of covered parking (please cross at the crosswalk). \n  \nTRAFFIC FLOW  \nEveryone should enter through the glass doors on the corner of 15th and 47th by the Welcome Kiosk. \nThose with limited mobility may enter through the underground garage or use the 15th Ave NE Dropoff Zone (Sanctuary Wood Doors)  \nSanctuary wood doors are EXIT ONLY (except for ADA needs).  \nThe sanctuary & balcony will open 15 minutes before each service. This year we will have freshly baked scones with strawberries to enjoy with coffee\, tea\, or cocoa. \n  \nFrequently Asked Questions \nWhere should I park for Easter Services? \nWe have 4 parking lots for you to utilize on Easter.
