We are all reeling from a seemingly neverending series of tragic events. From gun violence in our schools, churches, grocery stores, and movie theaters, to racial violence, COVID, monkeypox, and the list goes on. How are we called to share hope with a broken world, to be a light in the darkness? Gather tonight to pray and lament as we lift up this sin-drenched world to one who gave his life to reconcile us to each other and to God our Father.
The event serves to unite communities to celebrate the legacy of Rev. Dr. King, honor leaders who model his work, and promote Biblical justice and reconciliation with community partners in the greater Seattle community.
Join us in the sanctuary on Ash Wednesday for a service with music and a homily that marks the beginning of Lent.
