The 2022 Summer Double Whammy!  Hike at St Edward’s State Park, near Kirkland, and afterward, go to Roxanna Koesters’ nearby home, which features 250+ Dahlia plants!

Hike under the towering trees down to lake Washington to an undeveloped stretch of land where you can enjoy your picnic lunch. This is a 3-mile loop hike with 400 feet of elevation gain. We finish the loop by exploring the serene grotto near the seminary, now a beautifully restored lodge. This hotel has some lovely artwork on display.

After the hike, we can travel to Roxanna Koester’s nearby home, where we can be refreshed with some lemonade while we enjoy looking at over 250 dahlia plants. Roxanna will loan you a pair of scissors so you can take a bouquet home!

Meet: 10 am at the UPC West Parking lot.  See “Covid“ info. above.  Roxanna’s address will be provided to those who sign up to participate. Note: Discover Pass is required. This can be purchased at the park, online, or from an REI store.

Bring: Sack lunch, water, bug repellent, sunscreen, camera, clothing appropriate for the weather, hat, sunglasses, hiking boots or good walking shoes, a daypack, and trekking poles (if available).
