Susan Johanna Landgraf Johnson

SEPTEMBER 24, 1939 – NOVEMBER 19, 2022

Susan “Sue” Johnson went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2022. She died peacefully at Longhouse Adult Family Home in Seattle at the age of 83.

Susan Johanna Landgraf was born September 24, 1939, to parents Walter and Wanda Landgraf in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. An only child, Sue attended Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, where she played the flute in the school’s marching band. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Therapy.

After graduation, Sue taught in Denver, Colorado, where she met Howard Johnson. They married on April 14, 1962, and had three children, Jill Margaret, Linda Sue, and Thomas Howard.

The Johnson family lived in Everett, Washington, where Sue attended First Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon. She was a founding member of Pregnancy Aid. She enjoyed participating in the local book club and walking the family dog, a Whippet named Guy.

Sue enjoyed traveling, with adventures to the Holy Land and Greece. Closer to home, she traveled to the Grand Canyon with her daughter Linda and cruised Alaska with her daughter Jill.

Susan is survived by daughter, Jill Johnson-Weber and son-in-law, Sam Weber, Spokane, Washington; daughter, Linda Johnson, and granddaughter, Piper, Seattle, Washington; nieces, Janet Johnson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Laura McBrien, Centennial, Colorado.

She is predeceased by her son Thomas Johnson, who she will be buried next to at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett, Washington.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in support of Sue’s father and oldest daughter, who both battled cancer.

Susan’s daughters wish to thank Longhouse Adult Family Home and its amazing staff for taking such good care of their mother in her final year of life.

Susan loved the Lord; her Bible was always close by. As a member of University Presbyterian Church, she was involved in Stephen Ministries. While we mourn her passing, we are comforted in knowing she is in a holy and divine place.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

A visitation for Susan will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203.
