Join us for a series of Deep Dives into topics we find in our Immerse Bible reading.
June 22 | Genesis and Exodus with Rev. Dr. Cleotha Robertson, Associate Professor of Old Testament at Nyack College, Alliance Theological Seminary, and Senior Pastor at Soundview Presbyterian Church — Ph.D. New York University; M.S. Brooklyn College; M.Div. Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; B.A. Dartmouth College Dr. Robertson will join us virtually.
July 13 | Leviticus and Numbers with Dr. Tremper Longman III, Emeritus Professor of Biblical Studies; Distinguished Scholar of Biblical Studies Dr. Tremper Longman III graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, earned a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary, and completed a doctorate in ancient Near Eastern studies at Yale University. He served as the Robert H. Gundry Professor of biblical studies at Westmont from 1998 until he retired in 2017. He has written or co-authored numerous scholarly articles and more than 20 books. He is one of the main translators of the New Living Translation and has served as a consultant on other popular translations of the Bible, including the Message, the New Century Version, and the Holman Standard Bible. Dr. Longman will join us in person.
Aug 10 | Exodus with Jen Pollock Michel, author of four books: A Habit Called Faith: 40 Days in the Bible to Find and Follow Jesus, Surprised by Paradox (winner of Christianity Today’s 2020 Award of Merit for Beautiful Orthodoxy), Keeping Place, and Teach Us to Want (winner of Christianity Today’s 2015 Book of the Year). Ms. Michel will join us virtually.
