Welcoming the Strangers in Our Midst

UPC's Ministry to Internationals (MI) and the Language Institute (LI) exist to welcome strangers into our midst and to minister to them through building relationships in our English classes and fellowship activities. Each of us has an inherent need for community, and internationals particularly have a need for a welcoming environment as they navigate life in a foreign culture. Many people who come through our doors haven’t had many opportunities to hear about Christian faith in their home countries, but they are drawn to the hope of Christ because of the warm welcome they find here.

Our staff and volunteers want to emphasize the importance of opening up our church home to those who are vulnerable and in need of a supportive community. We find that our own faith grows deeper and our relationships stronger as we serve and come to know these members of the international community.
