Join us every Wednesday in October when Pastor Emeritus Earl F. Palmer teaches on the life of author and theologian C. S. Lewis. All ages are invited to a special Narnia Night in Larson Hall at the series conclusion October 29 at 6pm.

Narnia Night (all ages welcome)
Wednesday, October 29, Dinner: 6–8:30pm, Narnia Program: 7–8:30pm, Larson Hall
Pastor Emeritus Earl F. Palmer concludes the C. S. Lewis: Caught off Guard series on Narnia Night. Pre-register for dinner as space is limited ($5 donation for adults, $3 for kids; scholarships are available). Children ages 0–6 are welcome in the nursery at 7pm. There will be no regular programs for Elementary on October 29. All ages are invited to Larson Hall with their parents. Programs for children will resume November 5.

New Group: The Gathering

The Gathering is a new group that meets to worship, reflect on the weekly sermon text, and pray together. We gather in Larson Fellowship at 6:30pm to share dinner—please join us. Led by UPC elders.


2014 Fall Prayer Retreat
Held Together: Finding Cohesion in a Fragmented World             

Saturday, November 1, 9am–1pm, Calvin
Former UPC associate pastor Dave Rohrer will lead us on this half-day retreat. We will reflect on the apostle Paul’s prayer for the church in Colossians 1:15–20 and allow the text to lead us into the experience of centering our lives on the One who is at the center of all things.

Three times a year, we designate time to learn about and practice prayer with guest speakers on a Saturday morning. These half-day retreats are unique experiences with time for teaching, individual reflection, prayer, and journaling.

Kara Powell Presents Sticky Faith: Practical ways to build lasting faith in kids

Language Institute and Ministry with Internationals Benefit Dinner
Wednesday, November 5, 6:30pm, 415 Westlake, Seattle
Celebrate and support UPC’s international community with keynote speaker Earl F. Palmer and a gourmet dinner catered by the Upper Crust. As a part of the Outreach ministry of University Presbyterian Church, the Language Institute and Ministry with Internationals have provided resources for refugees, immigrants, and internationals in the greater Seattle area for over 30 years.
