Deacon Qualifications
Someone whose life reflects:
a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; active in daily prayer
a demonstrated life of faith (1Timothy 3:8-13)
a gift for service, to be Christ's "hands and feet" to his people
service or demonstrated caring of practical helpfulness to others
. . . who can commit:
to share hope in Jesus Christ
to give this ministry personal priority in his/her life through the three-year term
to provide "leadership in caring" by personal example in the church and the community
. . . who can serve the community by:
caring for the sick, the homeless, the grieving, the homebound, and those struggling financially
participating in deacon ministry teams
deepening Christ-centered relationship with fellow deacons and the congregation
serving communion to those who are hospitalized and homebound
