Introducing CFM’s new year-long intern, Michele Ward! Michele is working with elementary age children, while living in the new UPC intern house. Find out how you can help make the new intern house into a home by following this link, and keep reading to find out more about Michele!Michele worked as a summer intern with Children & Family Ministries in 2008 and 2009. When an opportunity to continue working in ministry at UPC emerged, she was more than willing to come back for a year! Michele believes that children have the knack for teaching her more than she ever teaches them, and is drawn to their joy and uncomplicated faith. Developing a place for families to nurture one another and receive nurturing by the church is so important to her, and she is excited to be a part of that process as an intern at UPC.
One of Michele’s greatest joys is building relationships with the children who attend UPC. Listening to their questions about who God is and how the world functions constantly gives her a new perspective. A benefit of working with kids is that her inner child is constantly up and running!
Raised in Oakdale, California, Michele is the oldest of four children. Her hometown is known for its Hershey’s Chocolate Festival and the PRCA Rodeo every spring. She studied English and theology at Whitworth University in Spokane.
Michele loves to play tennis and hiking is one of her favorite activities. She also plays guitar and piano. Writing and exploring good books are two of her favorite ways to use her day. Cayucos, home of clam chowder, antiques and tidal pools, is her childhood vacation spot. If you see Michele at UPC, she might answer to Dos, Spill or Danger Ward. Michele is fine, too.
