Second Wednesdays
September 8, 1 pm, Calvin
Don and Sheila Belcher will inspire us about having a "Mission in Our Senior Years." They will share particulars about their service in Ghana and Haiti. They have a way of inviting people to stretch into things God may have for them, too. Their testimony as members of the UPC Gospel Choir Concert in June charmed us to pieces

November 10, Noon, Geneva
Come enjoy a Thanksgiving Lunch. Turkey and all the fixins' are on the menu for a very reasonable donation. Featured speaker: Jason Brian Santos UPC’s Pastor of Youth Ministry and Mission. Once again with every meal served, Second Wind will make a donation to the Cathedral Kitchen at St. James Cathedral in Seattle. Our guest chef, Janet Rasey, is one of the chefs there. Some of her work crew will serve with her. It’s a privilege to support Cathedral Kitchen in their fine work of serving 150 meals each weekday to low income and homeless neighbors in Seattle. Our Toil Under the Sun: God, Purpose and the Meaning of Work
Rev. Dave Rohrer, teacher
From a very early age we entertain the question of the meaning of work.  As children we dream about what we will be when we grow up.  As adults we consider how our work fulfills or depletes us. What is true at both stages is that we want our work to matter.  In this seven week class we will develop a theology of work and consider how our identity as Christ’s disciples has an impact on how we do our work and what fulfillment we expect out of our work.  Using the book of Ecclesiastes and the parables of Jesus we will explore both the gift and the limits of our toil under the sun. No registration necessary. Just come!
