Opportunities to Serve Seattle Now

  • “He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
  • “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own kin?” (Isaiah 58:6–7)
  • “Jesus said to him, ‘If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.’” (Matthew 19:21)
  • “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” (James 1:27)

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities and Partnerships in Seattle

+ Serve the Church in Seattle

Breakthrough Partners
Breakthrough Partners operates in North America and around the world equipping churches and other organizations to build leaders and rebuild communities.

In It Together
In It Together is a partnership between nine Seattle churches. Deacons gather two or three times a year to learn together how they can better serve the families of their communities. Once each year, worship teams from these churches host an evening of praise--a time for the partner congregations to come together and share in a time of praise. A free-will offering is taken which supports the compassionate ministries of the partnering churches.

This task force purposefully engages in tangible efforts that foster awareness and prevention of human trafficking globally, nationally and locally. They primarily focus on human trafficking in Seattle, King County, and Washington State through grassroots efforts and partnerships with other like-minded groups in the area (Seattle Against Slavery, WA Engage, and some churches). They are active in both city and state wide legislative efforts in trafficking prevention, and in educational outreach--raising awareness of the issue.

The YWCA is one of the largest providers of shelter and emergency housing in King and Snohomish counties. Thousands of women find a warm place to care for themselves and their children each year through the YWCA. You can help by providing furniture, food, school supplies, or holiday baskets with your family or small group. Or come in to volunteer in the food bank or facilitate an activity for children. Each month there are a variety of opportunities to show families that they are cared for. Contact Nichelle to find out how.

Habitat for Humanity Task Force
